Where Tulum Archeological Park is located?

It’s located in Quintana Roo, nearly 3 km from the nearby Tulum town. It’s a bit far away from the Tulum hotel zone. You can rent a car or drive to Carretera Federal, Cancun Chetumal KM 230, 307 Tulum, get a taxi from Tulum or Playa Del Carmen, or book one of the daily tours going from Cancun and the Riviera Maya resorts.

Fees, house rules, and other details worth knowing

The entrance fee at the park costs $4.00 (85 MXN) without a tour guide. This is ideal if you want to explore the place at your pace. However, hiring a tour guide on-site will cost you $30 (600 MXN) if you want to maximize your visit.

Taking pictures isn’t prohibited as long as you’re using a smartphone. However, if you use a camera, you must pay the photography fee of $2.50 (45 MXN).

Ensure you have enough Mexican pesos on hand when you visit the place. The stores and snack bars don’t accept US dollars.

Visiting the place is humid, so bring water, a hat, an umbrella, a towel, or a handkerchief — because you’ll be out there sweating a lot if you’re not used to warm weather.
